6/17/2014 – Tewksbury, Mass — Residence in a small Massachusetts suburb were probably wondering why their public library had become quite the popular spot for the local men in the area to hang out. Well, wonder no more, for the second time in less than a year a person has been arrested for offering commercial sex in the Tewksbury Public Library.
The latest arrest went down (no pun intended) last Tuesday after librarians reportedly overheard a young woman offering prostitution services to one of the library’s male guests.
Police were called and an undercover officer reported that as soon as he entered the library he was approached by 20-year-old Brittany Macintyre. Macintyre quickly engaged in conversation with the officer and eventually passed him a note offering him sexual services in exchange for $60.
Macintyre was taken into custody around 6 p.m. as she followed the undercover officer to the exit.
Macintyre was booked into jail on complaints of sexual conduct for a fee, prostitution, and outstanding warrants for drug possession.
Last July, a 40-year-old homeless man was arrested after allegedly posting an ad to Craigslist offering sex for a fee in the library’s bathroom.
We’re thinking parents in the area might want to hold off on any summer field trips to the Tewksbury Public Library with the kiddos until the male patrons can be convinced to get their kicks in the ‘Do It Yourself’ section of the library.
