3/5/2015 – OKC, OK — A young woman who spent the last almost four years prostituting herself in the infamous Bronx neighborhood of Hunts Point was recently returned to her family in Oklahoma City by a former Wall Street banker turned activist photographer. But, as if often the case, this reunion does not have a happy ending…

Back in Dec. of 2012 JohnTV first reported on the work of Chris Arnade, 49, and how one of his photographic profiles featured a Oklahoma City street prostitute and drug addict who had recently been taken to the Point by a pimp in search of ‘mad money.’

Daphenie Hill, 24, befriended Arnade and in return he shared Hill’s image and her story with the world.

Hill, who went by the street name ‘Beauty’ while soliciting in New York has seen her share of hard times; birthed in a prison hospital to a mother serving time for drugs and other charges, Hill dropped out of school at 16 and used a fake ID to get a job as a stripper at the XXX-tasy Ranch in south Oklahoma City. Hill soon followed in other family members footsteps and began prostituting to make cash to feed her own addictions.

According to Arnade, at a most desperate time in Hill’s life – recently served time in a New York prison and had a new warrant on a drug dealing charge – he made her an offer he’s repeated to many others in Hill’s position – he would drive her back home to stay with her mom. Her answer; ‘maybe.’

Arnade told Hill she had until 9am the day after Christmas last year to make up her mind. To Arnade’s surprise Hill showed up at the McDonald’s where he had told her he would wait.

“I am tired of sleeping on trains, tired of hustling for a few dollars out here. I am scared, tired of Rikers, sick of running from police. Rehab, detox, all of them are the same, I don’t got anyone to go with, I don’t trust anyone there. I can’t do it without someone to do it with me. I am scared. You hear? Scared.

A few days on the road in Arnade’s van and they reached the south Oklahoma City neighborhood and apartment where her mother, and many of her family lives.

Arnade reports that Hill’s mother is out of prison, sober and dedicating much of her time to her local church.

When Hill fled Oklahoma City she had an active 2010 case for misdemeanor prostitution.

According to Arnade, Hill arrived in OKC on a Saturday and attended church with her family the next day. That next Thursday Hill turned herself in on the outstanding Oklahoma County prostitution warrant.

“I didn’t want to be driving with my momma, to have us pulled over, for them to run my record, and my momma and family get in trouble because of my mistakes. I didn’t want to disrespect them that way.” — Daphenie Hill

On Jan. 21, Hill pleaded guilty and was sentenced to one year deferred (to be ‘supervised’ by the DA’s office), 80-hours of community service, obtain a health check and pay a $30 fine plus court costs.

Unfortunately, Hill’s homecoming would not last for long.

In late February, Hill’s warrant in New York caught up with her. Authorities came to Oklahoma to retrieve Hill and escort her to Rikers Island.

On Arnade’s Facebook page he reports that Hill’s bail has been set at $5,000 and that Hill doesn’t want to bond out in New York;

“I don’t trust myself out. Not here in New York. I just want to get back home to Oklahoma, to be with my momma and my family. I want to do my time there, serve my probation there, where I can be with my momma and kin.” — Daphenie Hill

Hill’s next court date in New York is set for March 25.

3/8/2015 – OKC, OK — At least 18 individuals were arrested last week during an online prostitution sting conducted by the Oklahoma City Police Department’s Vice Unit.

Not many details are known at this time.

Early last week JohnTV was made aware of a large scale prostitution sting in progress in the metro and asked to wait until this weekend to disclose the identities of those arrested so far.

According to public records, seven women and 11 men were taken into custody on prostitution related complaints; One male for aiding and abetting prostitution, eight alleged ‘Johns’, one male for procuring prostitution (pimping related), another male that was most likely involved in a pimping related solicitation and seven women who were allegedly prostituting themselves (one a minor).

Those arrested as of Friday morning have been identified as;

1. Wilbert Lee Brewer III, DOB 9/11/1979 (35), Black male, reportedly resides in the 3900 block of N. Flynn St. in Oklahoma City, OK.
   Arrested on a complaint of aiding prostitution.
2. Kelvin Cordal Brady, DOB 11/13/1986 (28), Black male, reportedly resides in the 1100 block of Biloxi Dr. in Norman, OK.
   Arrested on a complaint of offering to engage in prostitution.
3. Jason Kyle Collingsworth, DOB 12/1/1977 (37), White male, reportedly resides in the 5900 block of Winding Ridge in San Antonio, TX.
   Arrested on a complaint of offering to engage in prostitution.
4. Richard Henry Friant, DOB 1/22/1941 (74), White male, reportedly resides in the 13000 block of SW 47th Street in Mustang, OK.
   Arrested on complaints of offering to engage in prostitution.

The sting reportedly began Monday in a motel in the 8200 block of the south Interstate 35 Service Road.

On Tuesday the sting moved to a motel in the 5200 block of N. Classen Circle.

It is believed the sting focused on prostitution advertised and solicited on the website Backpage.com.

3/11/2015 – Moore, OK — A woman in Moore claims her husband has been soliciting sex online and she sent her evidence to JohnTV to serve as a warning to other unsuspecting spouses.

JohnTV has been outing men engaged in prostitution in Oklahoma for almost 20-years, but this is a first – a wife is actually outing her own husband to JohnTV because he refuses to admit to his actions.

The woman, who we are only going to identify as ‘Jane’, told us that she is in her mid-twenties and has been married to her husband (who we will refer to as ‘John’) for the last eight years. ‘John’ is in his early thirties and they have two children together under the age of six.

Last week ‘Jane’ contacted JohnTV and forwarded to us a series of photos from her husband, ‘John’s’, cell phone (see below).

‘Jane’ was apparently looking through her husband’s cell phone text and call records when she came across this exchange a few weeks ago…

From there ‘Jane’ searched ‘John’s’ call history for the 405-771-6186 number and found where ‘John’ had apparently had at least three telephone conversations (or attempted conversations) with whomever he was texting.

The first call on the list above was placed at 12:33 pm on Feb. 8 and lasted one minute and two seconds. That call was almost immediately followed by the first text above relaying an address.

‘John’ appears to have called again at 12:51 pm and was only on the line for 29-seconds.

The third outgoing call at 12:56 pm lasted one minute and four seconds and appears to have been made immediately following the “Call Me” text in the third image above.

‘Jane’ then Goggled the address in the first text and it was revealed to belong to the Best Western Plus in Moore, Oklahoma.

‘Jane,’ the junior detective, knew something was amiss, because her ‘happily married’ husband had no reason to be meeting up at local hotels with anyone but her. So, ‘Jane’ Googled the mystery phone number and what-do-you-know, it came back to a local Internet prostitute (‘Jessica’) who posts on Backpage.com. You can see one of ‘Jessica’s’ posts at this link. Notice ‘Jessica’ advertises herself as a teenager.

‘Jane’ tells JohnTV that this isn’t the first time she’s found evidence of infidelity. According to ‘Jane,’ her husband also likes to cruise Craigslist for casual sex and has found more than 20 emails to that effect. One email ‘Jane’ claims to have found had ‘John’ planning to have sex with a woman he met on Craigslist while his wife would be at work.

A couple of weeks later, ‘Jane’ says she found evidence that ‘John’ was also cruising the website PlentyOfFish looking for anonymous sex.

‘Jane’ says the Backpage.com discovery was the final straw.

‘Jane’ claims she has confronted her husband but that he continually denies the allegations and claims all those instances were from friends of his getting on his phone – Don’t you just hate when that happens!

‘Jane’ claims she is still living with her husband, but only long enough for her to save up some money and make arrangements to move out and be done with him.

Dear ‘Jane’, unfortunately you are not alone when it comes to husband’s who can’t seem to keep their eyes on their prize – the wife and kids – and instead go searching in the dangerous, and often infectious, world of online hookups and prostitution.

Some people will say, “Well, if you kept your man happy at home he wouldn’t have gone looking elsewhere!” That’s nonsense. Men go looking for relationships if they feel that need is not being met at home, they don’t go risking their marriage, job, reputation and health for a 20-minute booty call because they think their spouse isn’t being acrobatic enough in the bedroom. These men have problems that range from deviance to self destructive impulses. It has little to do with you and everything to do with him.

Is divorce the right choice? Only you know that answer.

FYI – there are several companies who offer good software that can be installed on family computers and cell phones so that you can monitor the users activity remotely and covertly. Additionally, turning on features like ‘Find My Friends’ or ‘Find My iPhone’ can aid greatly in locating a spouse you think may not be where they are supposed to be.

3/12/2015 – Norman, OK — JohnTV was one of two guests invited to address a group of University of Oklahoma students and the public at a human trafficking awareness event last night on the OU campus.

JohnTV founder and Video Vigilante Brian Bates and Dr. Lori Basey with No Boundaries International addressed the audience for two-hours.

The event was hosted by Enactus – “A community of student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better more sustainable world.”

Bates gave a slide show presentation and showed various videos that he has shot on the streets of south Oklahoma City depicting the local reality of prostitution and human trafficking.

Below is just one of the videos Bates presented at the event.

“Many of these students have never seen the often horrific environment under which girls, as young as 14 and 15, are held and forced to sell themselves over and over again right here, in broad daylight, and in our state,” said Bates.

What many in the audience found even more disturbing than the criminal activity was the evidence and case studies presented by Bates of the much too often lax penalties doled out by the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s office.

“The shock evident on the faces of many in the audience when they realized Oklahoma ‘men’ were lining up to buy our young daughters was magnified ten-fold when they realized even if arrested, often these pimps are given nothing more than probation and $50 fines,” said Bates.

Bates presented a detailed study by JohnTV of a highly touted 2012 sting in Oklahoma City that resulted in the arrest of 52 individuals. Bates says the sting was presented to the public by law enforcement as targeting child sex traffickers and pimps. In reality the sting, dubbed ‘Operation Cross Country VI,’ resulted in the arrest and felony charges against mostly female prostitutes, while the ‘Johns’ and pimps arrested overwhelmingly only faced misdemeanor charges and small fines.

“Despite the best intentions, efforts, personal safety risks and expenditures of law enforcement, it is all for not when prosecutors and judges take a hug-a-thug mentality and refuse to punish the pimps, traffickers and ‘Johns.’ This is a reality you won’t often see on the nightly news or presented by the talking heads of city and state government,” said Bates.

Dr. Basey presented an overview of their organization and the services they provide to help women trapped in a life of prostitution and addiction to overcome those obstacles and succeed in life going forward.

3/14/2015 – Oklahoma — An Oklahoma City man pleads guilty to his role in the murder of six and will spend the next 25-years in prison.

Jonathan Allen Cochran, 36, (see photo, top left) was previously identified as one of four defendants who targeted a powerful gang leader and ending up killing five others simply because they were at the wrong place at the wrong time.

The murders took place in a small house in southwest Oklahoma City in the early morning hours of Nov. 9 of 2009. The murders quickly became referred to as the ‘Cathouse killings’ because one of the victims was 22-year-old Brooke Phillips. Phillips regularly appeared on the HBO reality series called ‘Cathouse,’ and focused on the the employees and customers of a legal brothel in Nevada.

According to court records, Cochran admitted he conspired with three other men to murder Casey Mark Barrientos, 32, of Oklahoma City. Cochran maintains that his co-defendant David “Hooligan” Tyner, 30, was put up to commit the killing by Denny Edward Phillips, a “war chief” for the Indian Brotherhood gang.  Authorities believe there was an ongoing dispute between Denny Phillips and Barrientos over how drug and prostitution proceeds were being split. Tyler, an MMA fighter, was considered Barrientos’ body guard. Denny Phillips and Brooke Phillips were not related.

Cochran claims that on the night of the murders, co-defendant Tyner went to the house where Barrientos was staying after first dropping off Cochran and another co-defendant, Russell Lee Hogshooter in the immediate area.

Tyner claims that while he was in the bathroom he heard gunshots ring out in the living room. As he entered the room he was allegedly confronted by Barrientos. Tyner said he then shot and killed Barrientos. Tyler then says he chased the homeowner, Jose Fernando Fierro, who had fled the scene. Tyler states that he returned to the home and found Cochran and Hogshooter holding bloody knives and the five witnesses dead.

Tyner and Cochran got into their car while Hogshooter doused the scene with gasoline and set the house on fire.

The three men later buried their weapons, burned their clothing and went their separate ways.

The victims were identified as; Brooke Phillips, 22, Jennifer Lynn Ermey, 25, of Edmond, Milagros “Millie” Cecilia Barrera, 22, and Casey Mark Barrientos, 32. Both Phillips and Ermey were pregnant at the time, bringing the death toll to six.

Phillips had taken time off, working as a prostitute in Nevada, because she was pregnant. She returned to Moore, Oklahoma where she had friends and family. Phillips is said to have been dating Barrientos at the time of the murders.

On Nov. 21 of last year, formal charges were filed against Cochran and Hogshooter in Oklahoma County.

On Feb. 27, of this year, Cochran pleaded guilty to six first degree murder charges and one charge of conspiracy to commit murder. Cochran was sentenced to life in prison – suspended – with the first 25 years to serve incarcerated.

Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater was quoted by media outlets as stating his office had conversations with the victim’s families and they agreed to the plea deal. As part of the deal, Cochran has agreed to testify against his co-defendants.

Hogshooter’s preliminary hearing is set for May 18.

Tyner is already serving a life sentence for his role in the murders. Tyler came forward and turned himself in shortly after the murders because he learned that Fierro was cooperating with police.

Denny Edward Phillips’ jury trial is set for April 20 (see JohnTV’s original article). Phillips is already serving a seven year prison sentence for an unrelated shootout with Tulsa police in 2010.

3/14/2015 – Tulsa, OK — A Tulsa teen facing life behind bars for the alleged human sex trafficking of at least two minors has had all of his charges dismissed by Tulsa County prosecutors.

As JohnTV reported back in Jan., Dashawn Patrick Hervey, 18, was arrested after Tulsa police were called out to his location regarding a domestic dispute. When officers arrived they found Hervey, a female minor and the minor’s mother. The two women claimed that Hervey had threatened to shot them during an argument.

After further investigation, police believed they had evidence that Hervey had recently forced two underage girls into prostitution. The victims told authorities that Hervey threatened them with physical violence and kept all the money earned through their prostitution.

On Jan. 21, Hervey was formally charged in Tulsa County with two counts of human sex trafficking, two counts of feloniously pointing a firearm, and three counts of assault and battery.

Hervey was taken into custody and remained there unable to secure his $250,000 bond.

Hervey was previously arrested Oct. 9th of last year and subsequently charged in Tulsa County with felony domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Hervey was facing a minimum of 15-years in prison and up to life – plus court costs, fines up to $250,000 and sex offender registration.

Hervey, the accused human sex trafficker and beater of women, got an extremely lucky break last Wednesday.

When Hervey appeared in court, with his tax payer provided public defender, Tulsa County prosecutor Jenny Proehlday requested that all charges against Hervey be dismissed – the same happened when prosecutor Kenneth Elmore moved to dismiss the Oct. domestic assault and battery. This request was granted by Judge Martha Rupp Carter. And like that, Hervey was a free man.

According to court records, the Oct. assault and battery case was dismissed because the alleged victim did not show up to court. The human trafficking case was reportedly dismissed “pending further investigation.”

JohnTV speculates that for whatever reason, the victims of the human trafficking case could either no longer be located or had chosen to no longer participate in the prosecutions efforts.

We have zero proof of this, but it is not uncommon for victims of assault and human trafficking to either be coerced into not prosecuting or they simply fear for their safety and refuse to cooperate.

Considering human traffickers in Oklahoma County are routinely given a slap on the wrist, its no wonder victims are afraid to come forward.

3/15/2015 – Dallas, TX — A Dallas man who traveled to Oklahoma to lure a teen into prostituting for him in various cities throughout Texas pleaded guilty earlier this month in federal court and now faces up to a decade behind bars.

According to a recently posted press release by the FBI, Justin Dishon Brathwaite, 27, pleaded guilty to one count of transportation of an individual for the purpose of engaging in prostitution across state lines.

According to federal court records (see below), Brathwaite, in Dallas, contacted a 19-year-old female, in Oklahoma City, after seeing a posting of her’s on Backpage.com. The female, who is identified only as T.C., admits to have been engaging in prostitution of her own free will in Oklahoma, but expressed to Brathwaite her desire to stop.

Brathwaite spoke with T.C. several times over the phone for approximately two weeks. During those conversations Brathwaite told T.C. that she could come live with him in Dallas and that he would take care of her and that she would never have to prostitute again – T.C. agreed.

In May of 2012, Brathwaite drove from Dallas to Oklahoma City and picked up T.C. and took her back to Texas.

Once they arrived in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Brathwaite immediately told T.C. she needed to start prostituting and making money for him. T.C. eventually agreed to work at a strip club and engage in commercial sex acts.

Brathwaite took photos of T.C. and began posting prostitution related ads to Backpage.com advertising T.C. as a hooker. With each encounter, Brathwaite took all the money paid to T.C. by her ‘Johns.’ T.C. told investigators that she was prostituted in Denton, Killeen, Houston and Austin.

On June 12, 2012, members of the Dallas Police Department’s Vice Unit came into contact with T.C. during a sting. T.C. was arrested for prostitution and while being interviewed identified Brathwaite as her pimp and how she was brought to Texas to prostitute for him – the case was then turned over to the FBI for prosecution.

Brathwaite was subsequently indicted in federal court.

Brathwaite has since admitted to his role in knowingly transporting T.C. from Oklahoma to Texas with the intention of forcing her to engage in commercial sex acts.

In Feb. Brathwaite reached a plea agreement with federal prosecutors (see below) in which he agreed to plead guilty to the charge. In exchange, the federal government agreed not to file additional criminal charges against Brathwaite and to recommend a prison sentence of no more than 10-years, a fine not to exceed $250,000, up to three years of supervised release, costs of incarceration and supervision and forfeiture of property.

Brathwaite’s sentencing is scheduled for July 1, 2015.

3/16/2015 – Las Vegas, NV — A former reality TV ‘star’ has been sentenced to over a decade in prison after kidnapping a prostitute and trying to extort a ransom for her release.

According to media outlets, Tim Zickuhr, formerly of the History Channel reality show ‘Ice Road Truckers; Deadliest Roads’ was sentenced to 15-years in prison last week stemming from his arrest last April in Nevada.

Zickuhr reportedly knew a Las Vegas prostitute named Lisa Marie Cadeau, aka ‘Snow White’ or ‘Shorty.’ In Dec. of 2013 Zickuhr gave her his ATM card so she could withdraw some cash – allegedly to pay for sexual services she had provided to Zickuhr. Zickuhr became outraged the next day when he felt the prostitute took $1,000 more than they had agreed. Zickuhr located Cadeau and forcibly detained her (kidnapped), tied her up with backpack straps, poured ice cold water over her, assaulted her, threatened to kill her and locked her in a closet.

Cadeau though pulled an ingenious move when she convinced Zickuhr to call a ‘friend’ of hers that would be able to make good on the money Zickuhr claims she stole. What Zickuhr didn’t realize is that the ‘friend’ was really undercover Las Vegas Police Vice officer Adam Seely.

During the telephone conversation with officer Seely, Zickuhr reportedly claimed that if Seely didn’t come up with the cash that he was going to take Cadeau to Mexico and kill her.  Seely agreed to meet Zickuhr at a phone booth behind the Eureka casino and, after a short foot chase, arrested Zickuhr on various criminal complaints.

According to Zickuhr, he was subsequently charged with first degree kidnapping, first degree extortion, and first degree coercion.

Zickuhr also reportedly admitted that he had planned to place prostitution ads for Cadeau online and collect the money for himself.

Zickuhr claimed to TMZ in 2014 that the alleged victim’s allegations were ‘ludicrous’ and that she was his roommate for awhile and is an escort and known crack-head. Zickuhr claimed that the prostitute is in fact a criminal and has lied to everyone and ‘ruined’ his Hollywood career. And by ‘career’ Zickuhr means a show he barely even appeared on (season 2), and hasn’t appeared on again since 2011. A profile of Zickuhr on the History Channel’s website (since removed) describes him as a loudmouth driver, ‘brimming with personality.’ Zickuhr was featured driving cargo across treacherous roads in Bolivia (see season promo below)…

So unconvinced of his story was the judge that he gave Zickuhr the maximum sentence allowed under the law – 15-years.

Zickuhr is also linked (by DNA) to a robbery of an 80-year-old woman outside a casino. The elderly woman was seriously injured after being knocked to the ground outside of the Palms Casino by Zickuhr. Police identified Zickuhr as the robbery suspect because he lost his flip flops during the robbery and the DNA collected from them matched him. The robbery occurred while Zickuhr was out on bail for the kidnapping charges.

“They’re very jealous of each other,” Pat says, explaining the room’s setup to a visitor. “They’ve been taught this by their pimps, and that’s how they control them.”

“They” are victims of human trafficking, and this house doubles as a shelter for them known as “Traffick Refuge.” Since 2011, the Freelands have opened their doors to young women who have been sexually exploited—that is, trafficked—typically at the hands of a pimp.

The first time E. Wood worked as a prostitute, it was at a truck stop in Oklahoma City. She was 19 and far away from the Flathead Indian Reservation, where she says she was raised in a home rife with violence, sexual abuse and drug and alcohol abuse.

Soon after Wood initially became involved with a pimp, she says she tried to escape the life of prostitution and to recover her sobriety, her children and her life. But she quickly found her way back to the truck stops of Oklahoma City.

“I went back to the pimp, ’cause I didn’t have no one else,” Wood says. “And I was like, ‘I’ll work for you, but I need a lawyer. I need a lawyer ASAP to get my kids.’ And I told him, ‘Come on, let’s get to work.'”

Wood got to work, but when her pimp took all of the money she made, she began to stash small amounts on the side, in a desperate effort to save up and win back her children. When she was caught “stealing,” as her pimp considered it, Wood says he ordered three of his other prostitutes to beat her up.

“And I literally crawled into the bus station, like bleeding and bruised,” Wood says. “So my mom sent me some money for a bus ticket.””

3/16/2015 – Fort Hood, TX — A US Army sergeant that had been entrusted to advocate for fellow soldiers who are victims of sexual abuse has admitted to a military tribunal that he was in fact acting as a pimp while stationed at Fort Hood in Texas.

According to media reports, (NCO) Sgt.1st Class Gregory McQueen confessed to a military judge that he had recruited at least three cash-strapped female soldiers into selling themselves for sex and joining his prostitution ring.

McQueen pleaded guilty to 15 counts at his court-martial, which began last week. McQueen’s charges include pandering, conspiracy to solicit prostitution and assault. Other charges are being dismissed as part of his plea agreement.

One of McQueen’s victims recounted that she had confided in him that she was experiencing dire financial troubles after her husband left her and her three-year-old son and had emptied their bank account.

In response, McQueen convinced the 20-year-old mother to have sex with male officers in exchange for cash. McQueen also had sex with the woman and took nude photos of her, saying he was going to use them to set her up with additional ‘Johns.’

One of McQueen’s victims spoke in great detail as to the first ‘date’ McQueen sent her on; It was Sunday night in February two years ago. She was instructed to go to the La Quinta Inn & Suites in Killeen, TX around 10 p.m. Shortly thereafter her ‘date’ arrived in a yellow Hummer with Department of Defense decals on the license plate.

Other females McQueen pimped out told stories of how they were paraded in front of senior officers at parties hosted by McQueen and how they’d engage in sex acts with the officers for money.

Also revealed in testimony was that McQueen had a ‘bottom bitch’ or a female prostitute that would help him recruit other women into their ring.

Additional evidence submitted by prosecutors showed that McQueen’s wife was at least somewhat aware of her husband’s activities.

It is unclear how long McQueen worked in Fort Hood’s sexual assault prevention program before being criminally charged. What is known is that it took a year after investigators interviewed McQueen before formal charges were filed.

McQueen faced a maximum penalty of 40-years in prison if convicted of all of the 21-charges leveled against him.

As part of a plea agreement, McQueen pleaded guilty to 15 of the charges in exchange for those carrying the toughest penalties to be dropped.

As a result, McQueen was demoted to the rank of E-1 and sentenced to a mere two years in prison – along with a dishonorable discharge and forfeiture of pay and benefits.

Prosecutors had asked for McQueen to be sentenced to five years in prison.

This past Friday, McQueen was booked into the Bell County Jail where he will remain until he is assigned to a military detention facility.

JohnTV readers will recall that in 2013 we reported on a local Tinker AFB non-commissioned officer who was convicted of pimping another soldier’s wife and threatened the life of a ‘John.’

Master Sgt. Michael R. Coulson, with the engine management unit of the 552nd Maintenance Operations Squadron, was sentenced to only 7-months confinement for his crimes.

3/16/2015 – OKC, OK — A pregnant Oklahoma City woman, known to prostitute online and on S. Robinson Ave., was viciously stabbed by her live-in boyfriend while she was driving on I-35. The boyfriend was taken into custody after jumping off an overpass into the Oklahoma River.

Sunday afternoon Katelyn Nichole Powers, 22, was driving along Interstate 35 near the I-40 interchange when her live-in felon boyfriend Christian Jovan Hillard, 23, attacker her with a knife.

Powers, who is eight months pregnant, told investigators the attack came out of nowhere. According to police, Powers claims they were just driving along when Hillard said he felt strange and then began stabbing her.

Powers was able to pull over and exit her vehicle, but, according to witnesses, Hillard continued to stab her as she screamed and passing witnesses dialed 911.

Hillard then did something else unexpected and jumped off the I-35 bridge and into the Oklahoma River – knocking himself unconscious and causing minor injury.

Hillard, laying lifeless near the bank of the river, was taken into custody and transported to the hospital, along with Powers.

Powers and Hillard’s neighbors told local media outlets they are not surprised by Hillard’s violence.

Neighbors claim that Hillard was “bound to snap sooner or later … he was a time bomb” and that they knew “something bad was going to happen…”

The couple live in The Town House apartments on NW 5th street near downtown Oklahoma City.

Hillard was released from the hospital and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on an assault with a dangerous weapon complaint. Hillard is also being held on a separate arson complaint stemming from his alleged attempt to set their apartment on fire just a couple of weeks ago.

Hillard has a previous felony conviction in Oklahoma County for a 2008 robbery with a dangerous weapon conviction. In that case, Hillard was given eight years in prison (which obviously he did not have to completely serve) and it currently on probation.

Powers’ criminal resume is just as flattering; In 2010 Powers was convicted in Pottawatomie County of assault and battery on an employee of a juvenile facility and sentenced to one year in prison; In 2011 Powers received a deferred sentence in Oklahoma County for misdemeanor prostitution; Powers is actually due back in court next week for a preliminary hearing stemming from a felony possession of a stolen vehicle charge. In April of last year Powers was one of eight arrested in an Oklahoma City Police Department Vice sting – she was charged with felony computer crimes and offering to engage. However, five months later the Oklahoma County DA’s office dropped all the charges against her.

3/20/2015 – OKC, OK — An amateur porn star out of California has been arrested for the second time in Oklahoma City during an online prostitution sting.

Earlier this month, members of the Oklahoma City Vice Unit arrested 20-year-old California resident Monica Katherine Jarvis in a motel after she allegedly agreed to engage in sex for cash.

According to court records, on March 3, an undercover officer called the number listed in a suspected online prostitution ad on Backpage.com that had allegedly been posted by Jarvis.

Around 8:30 p.m. the undercover officer met up with Jarvis in room 214 at the Rodeway Inn & Suites at 321 S. Rockwell in south OKC (Rockwell and I-40 area).

Jarvis was reportedly placed under arrest after she allegedly agreed to “provide sexual intercourse in exchange for $250.00.”

During the interview and booking process, it was learned that Jarvis had an outstanding warrant stemming from her May 2014 arrest in Oklahoma City for prostitution. For whatever reason, the Oklahoma County DA’s office waited until December (over six months later) before filing misdemeanor charges. Jarvis’ 2014 arrest was just one of 16 that week as a result of a joint OCPD and FBI effort.

JohnTV provided additional details on Jarvis’ 2014 arrest and the Modesto woman who reportedly aided in her prostitution efforts in a July article.

After Jarvis’ latest arrest she was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on complaints of offering to engage in prostitution, felony computer crimes and her outstanding 2014 warrant.

It didn’t take long for the Internet gutters that specialize in promoting prostitution to learn of Jarvis’ arrest and alert others – see sample postings below (click for larger image)…

Jarvis, who goes by the name ‘Cali Barbie’ and another more recognizable name is also apparently an amateur porn star. JohnTV is not going to publish Jarvis’ porn name so as to not drive additional traffic to the many porn sites that feature her explicit videos (a redacted screen shot of one of those sites is shown below)…

According to Jarvis’ social media profile, she appears to have at least one young child, graduated from Keystone Job Corps and once attended culinary arts classes at Le Cordon Bleu.

As of this publication, Jarvis has posted bond and been released from jail – and most likely fled back to California, never to return to OKC.

On March 3, a certificate of probable cause was filed in Jarvis’ latest arrest with the Oklahoma County Court Clerk’s Office.

3/24/2015 (updated 3/26/2015)- Edmond, OK — A senior at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) has been charged with multiple crimes related to allegedly operating a house of prostitution out of his upscale Edmond apartment with his girlfriend.

JohnTV was the first to break the story back in January after 24-year-old Ali Hussain Al Yousuf was arrested during a sting targeting human sex traffickers in and around Oklahoma City.

Al Yousuf was one of nine people arrested during the joint effort by members of the Oklahoma City Police Department’s Vice Unit and agents with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) Human Trafficking Unit – January is nationally recognized as Human Trafficking Awareness Month.

According to Al Yousuf’s, now deleted, Linkedin profile, he is finishing his bachelor’s degree in industrial safety technology/technician and plans to graduate this year (yeah, that plan may now be on hold).

Al Yousuf reportedly previously attended college at the King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals in Saudi Arabia.

Last Friday Al Yousuf and his live-in girlfriend, 20-year-old Rachel Lauren Herrera, were formally charged in Oklahoma County Court; Al Yousuf was charged with maintaining a house of prostitution and aiding and abetting prostitution. Herrera was charged with engaging in prostitution – all of the charges were filed as misdemeanors.

Along with the criminal charges came the filing of a detailed probable cause affidavit (PCA).

According to the PCA, on Jan. 8, at about 4:40 p.m., an undercover agent with the OBN was “attempt[ing] to locate potential human trafficking suspects and victims [when he] located a Backpage[.com] advertisement for an escort.” The actual ad is shown below (click for larger image)…

The OBN agent’s telephone call was answered by a female that told him “she was available and that she was at the Villas at Stonebridge [apartments] in Edmond, near 33rd and Broadway.” The female then directed the undercover agent to call her back when he got to the complex so she could give him her apartment number.

When the undercover agent arrived he was told to go to apartment #1632. The agent then “activated [his] mobile transmitter so that other agents could monitor [him] in the apartment.”

The agent states that when he knocked on the apartment door he was greeted by Rachel Herrera and invited inside. Once inside the agent says he saw a younger female sitting on the couch holding an infant. Rachel identified the younger girl as her roommate. That female was later identified as Rachel Herrera’s 16-year-old sister (identified in court documents as “M.H.”). The infant was later identified as Rachel Herrera’s seven-month-old daughter.

The agent says that Rachel escorted him back to a bedroom and asked him to shut the door.

Rachel then allegedly told the agent “that [my] rates were online and you should know them.” The undercover agent agreed to a half hour for $150 and handed Rachel the cash. According to the undercover agent, Rachel then removed all of her clothing, except her bra.

The undercover agent asked Rachel if she had any condoms. Rachel allegedly replied to the affirmative and reached into a small drawer and retrieved a condom from it. The agent then gave an audio cue takedown signal for monitoring officers to respond to.

While uniformed officers were making their way to the apartment door, the undercover agent asked to use the restroom to stall for time. Rachel reportedly told the officer “that [is] fine and that M.H. [is] used to seeing guys in the apartment.” The agent then waited in the bathroom for takedown officers to arrive.

When the undercover agent heard a knock at the door, he exited the restroom and noted that Rachel, M.H. and Al Yousuf were all standing at the closed front door looking through the peephole. The undercover agent unlocked the door to let the uniformed officers into the apartment.

All three suspects were separated and interviewed by law enforcement.

Al Yousuf claimed that Rachel was his wife and that he was the father of their infant child. Further investigation revealed that Al Yousuf and Rachel have never been legally married to each other.

Al Yousuf claimed he had no idea that Rachel was working as an Internet prostitute. Al Yousuf claimed that “Rachel lives her own life and he lives his own, so he did not know what she does.”

When investigators inquired as to how it would be possible for Rachel to be having sex with men in their apartment with him there and him not know it, he simply replied that he didn’t know. Al Yousuf gave the same reply when asked how he thought Rachel was able to earn the kind of money she was contributing to the household without a job.

Rachel told investigators a more interesting tale…. According to court documents, Rachel claims that she met Al Yousuf about a year ago while she was working as a escort (prostitute). In fact, Rachel allegedly admitted that Al Yousuf was a former customer (‘John’) who replied to her online ad and that they started dating. Rachel claims Al Yousuf is very much aware of her prostitution activities and that he was not forcing or coercing her in any way to prostitute herself.

M.H. reportedly told investigators that she had been living with Rachel and Al Yousuf because she was not getting along with her mother. M.H. also admitted that Al Yousuf was aware of Rachel’s prostitution activities.

In a strange twist that has yet to be explained, after their initial interviews, only Al Yousuf was taken into custody and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail, even though it was Rachel who took the phone call, directed the officer to her home, let him in, got naked, provided a condom and took his $150 in cash. Folks, that’s a big W.T.F.? We’ve never seen any other hooker treated with such kid gloves.

OBN spokeman Mark Woodward was quoted by one media outlet as stating, “There is no evidence of human trafficking … She [Herrera] was a willing participant.”

Al Yousuf later posted a $2,500 bond and was released from jail.

After JohnTV posted our Jan. 13 article on Al Yousuf’s arrest and speculated on Rachel’s involvement, someone identifying themself as Rachel Herrera posted the following comments in response to the JohnTV article and subsequent replies from the public…

Im sorry for everyone i hurt, or embarrassed. I cant go back and erase it, all i can do is i become a better women, mother , and wife. If u choose to let this incident define me as a person then i feel sorry for you. I don’t need anyones sympathy right now, instead maybe some words of encouragement. My future is far to valuable to get hung up on a mistake i made at 20 yrs old. I don’t think this website is trash, maybe a little off-base, but not far. Its a little silly how my family issues started coming out on this site, but hey, at least we have family. . even if this comment does not get approved, thank you Brian B, for letting me voice my opinion.

Hey Rachel, regardless what JohnTV or anyone else thinks is an appropriate punishment for you and Al Yousuf’s little dabble in prostitution and pimping, there is plenty of evidence that the Oklahoma County DA’s office isn’t planning on pursuing this very aggressively. For one, our DA’s office has a long history of actually letting really bad and dangerous pimps walk virtually punishment free from similar charges. Heck, the last admitted human trafficker caught in Edmond was pimping a pregnant 16 year old out of a sleazy motel and he only got probation. Just last week another pimp admitted to transporting a minor for the purpose of prostitution and he only got a $50 fine. Throw in the fact the DA’s office intentionally waited to file this case until the media coverage had died down – and even then filed it late on a Friday during Spring Break so as to assure it was totally overlooked. Lastly, in virtually every other Backpage.com related prostitution case the prostitute is charged with a felony computer crime – you weren’t – making it painfully obvious the DA’s office is basically endorsing your little crime ring.

We’ll even go so far as to bet you two are not facing more than one to five years deferred (that means probation only, no official conviction and no permanent criminal record), maybe a couple hundred bucks in fines and hopefully some making better choices rehabilitation classes. Your lawyer is going to cost you more than the Oklahoma ‘justice’ system will.

In all reality, JohnTV has publicly stated for years that we take no formal stance against prostitution that is private, consensual and unorganized – and you two pretty much fit that description. The biggest problem JohnTV has with this whole scenario is that between the two of you criminal ‘masterminds’ you really deserve to be arrested and publicly outed. Why? Because you’re both so completely reckless. Rachel, regardless how many fat slob strangers you want to allow inside your body for a few bucks, you have no right to put your child and your minor sister in a position where they could have been seriously hurt or even killed. Prostitution attracts a lot of really sick individuals and inviting them into your real home is dangerous enough, but doing it with your seven month old daughter and 16-year-old sister literally in the same room is begging for disaster. And I hate to tell you this but your sorry excuse for a man isn’t going to be able to save you when the wrong ‘John’ walks into your doorway.

Speaking of Al Yousuf, its time to grow a spine and tell your woman – the mother of your child no less – that her prostitution days are over. Live like every other poor struggling college student and educate yourselves, survive on Ramen noodles and know that one day things will be better – Something that won’t happen if Rachel, you or your child is seriously hurt, killed, locked away in prison or is burdened with a felony sex crimes criminal record.

By your own admission Rachel, you’ve been prostituting yourself out since you were a teenager. Consider yourself extremely lucky that without even apparently screening your ‘Johns’ you haven’t been hurt and only just now have been criminally charged. Take this as a sign to get out while you still can!

On Mar. 24 arrest warrants were issued for Al Yousuf and Rachel. Yesterday Rachel was booked into the Oklahoma County jail and then released early Thursday morning after posting a $500 bond. Rachel is now listing a Del City address as her residence. Al Yousuf previously posted a $2,500 bond.

FYI – this isn’t the only prostitution case currently going on involving a UCO student. Earlier this month JohnTV reported that prostitution charges had been filed against a former member of the UCO soccer team. Bryan Phillips, 21, has been charged with pimping himself out on Backpage.com while reportedly living on the UCO campus.

3/25/2015 (updated 3/26/2015) – OKC, OK — Its becoming pretty routine in Oklahoma County… Law enforcement risks their lives and dedicate expensive resources in an effort to investigate cases of prostitution and human sex trafficking only to have the case fall apart or pleaded out once it gets to the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office. You can read an archive of head shakingly lax sentences against pimps and human traffickers featured on JohnTV at this link.

In this latest example, three individuals were arrested last year and criminally charged with the sexual trafficking of a 17-year-old girl in Oklahoma City. Over the course of eight months, two of the alleged human traffickers had their charges dismissed and another has had his case pled out to a $50 fine.

Below are the details of that case…

According to multiple probable cause affidavits (PCAs); on July 16, 2014, at about 1:30 p.m., agents with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) Human Trafficking Unit and members of the Oklahoma City Police Department’s Vice Unit were investigating suspected human trafficking occurring on the website Backpage.com – JohnTV later learned the sting was officially referred to as “Operation Buzz Kill.”

An undercover agent responded to an ‘escort’ ad posted to the website under ‘adult services’ and a short time later a female arrived at the agents motel room on the NW Expressway. The female was taken into custody after she reportedly offered to engage in specific sex acts in exchange for $200. During the interview process in the hotel room it was learned that the female was only 17-years-old and was a runaway listed on the Nat’l crime database as a sex trafficking victim.

Additional law enforcement agents positioned in the motel parking lot had observed the teen being dropped off by a black male driving a green Cadillac. Officers also noted a white female passenger that remained in the car with the driver. After dropping the teen off, the Cadillac then drove across the street to a Target store. Agents with the OBN confronted the two and placed them in investigative detention.

The driver of the Cadillac was identified as Terry Lawayne Clark Jr., 29, and his passenger was an 18-year-old female identified as Brianna Dale Carpenter.

During questioning, Clark reportedly told investigators that he had been called on the phone by Carpenter and that she had asked him to come and pick her and the younger teen up and drop her friend off at the motel. Carpenter told the investigator that he knew the younger teen was going to the motel to engage in prostitution, but that he did not know the girl’s age (how convenient).

Carpenter was taken back to OBN headquarters and interviewed. During her interview, Carpenter reportedly stated that she had known the younger teen since middle school and that she knew the girl was engaging in prostitution. Carpenter went on to tell investigators that she told Clark the younger teen was meeting ‘a client’ and that if things went bad or if police showed up that could just leave the young girl.

When the 17-year-old victim was interviewed, she told investigators that both she and Carpenter were prostitutes for the same pimp. The young girl also revealed that she and Carpenter are in a competition to see who can make the most money for their pimp.

Further investigation by law enforcement revealed that the young teen and Carpenter were being pimped by local Oklahoma City scumbag Philip (Phillip) Bush Gatson III, aka ‘Young Selo.’ Investigators also identified Carpenter as Gatson’s ‘Bottom Bitch’ – the highest ranking female within a prostitution or human trafficking ring. According to the PCA, “Carpenter took direct action to further the trafficking of the juvenile by arranging for her transportation and supervising her action while knowing that she was a juvenile.”

On July 25, 2014 all three suspects were formally charged in Oklahoma County Court.

Gatson and Carpenter were charged with human trafficking and Clark was charged with transporting a child under the age of 18 for the purpose of prostitution. All three criminal defendant’s bonds were set at $50,000. Additionally, all three were tentatively appointed public defenders at the tax payer’s expense.

Two weeks later Carpenter’s charges were dismissed so that ‘justice’ could be pursued in federal court; Carpenter was charged in federal court with “use of a facility in interstate commerce for prostitution of a minor; aiding and abetting. If convicted, Carpenter faced 10-years to life behind bars on the transporting a minor charge and up to three years in prison on the aiding prostitution charge. Carpenter also faced up to $250,000 in fines.

Wow, seems like Carpenter stepped into a big pile of judicial doo-doo… Federal prosecution with up to life in prison and a quarter of a million dollars in fines – now that reflects the often touted public stance of “zero tolerance for those who prey upon our children and sexual exploit them!”

Well, not so fast, as reality often collides with headlines – this was such a case…

After being transferred to federal custody, Carpenter no longer had to worry with coming up with her state mandated $50,000 bond. In the federal courts she was allowed an unsecured $5,000 bond (that means she just had to sign a piece of paper promising to be good and she was released).

And luck kept shining on Carpenter.

In Oct., just three months after Carpenter, as a ‘bottom bitch’ who willingly furthered the prostitution efforts of an underage girl, got the biggest break of her life when U.S. Prosecuting Attorney Sanford C. Coats filed for a motion to dismiss all of the charges against her. That motion was upheld and like that, Carpenter was returned to society with no restrictions, probation, supervision or requirements.

Carpenter was not the only predator to receive a lucky break – not by a long shot.

Just last Wednesday, the Oklahoma County DA’s office allowed defendant Clark to plead out his case to a small fine.

On Mar. 18, Assistant Distict Attorney Adam Kallsnick worked out a sweetheart of a deal for a guy who pleaded guilty to taking an underage girl to a hotel so that she could engage in prostitution. According to the court record, Clark was granted a deferred sentence, three-years of probation and ordered to pay a $50 fine. If you’re unfamiliar with what a deferred sentence is, we’ll break it down for you… It means that even though you pled guilty its not considered a conviction. As long as you don’t screw up your probation, then the entire matter can be expunged off your record and its like it never happened.

Deferred sentences are fine in non-violent, non-teen-sex-trafficking cases and are often used for first time offenders. But this wasn’t Clark’s first offense. In fact, this non-conviction, $50 fine encompassed not only this case, but also an entirely different felony case against Clark for grand larceny. Yeah, this turd got a two-for-one deal from our District Attorney’s office.

And, its worse than that. On the same day ADA (and every criminal’s best friend) Kallsnick was pleading Clark out on pimping a teen and grand larceny – off in another courtroom he was also pleading Clark out on DUI, driving while suspended, transporting an open container and driving without an interlock device. In that case Clark received probation, and a $100 fine, a $270 fine and a $120 fine. Yep, the fine for driving with a suspended license is greater than pimping out someone’s 17-year-old daughter.

This brings us to Gatson, arguably the primary pimp/human trafficker in this case.

On Nov. 19 of last year Gatson was to scheduled to appear in court for his preliminary hearing. However, no hearing was held because the Oklahoma County DA’s office dismissed the human trafficking charges against Gatson, noting, “victim failed to appear.” (dismissal was requested and signed off by ADA Kallisnick)

Victims reluctant to testify against their trafficker(s) is an all too familiar occurrence for various reasons; fear, transient lifestyle, threats from their trafficker or their trafficker’s associates, the unnecessarily long time it takes for a case to go to trial (up to three years), and the list goes on. Most importantly though, JohnTV would argue it is the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s offices own pitiful conviction record that most likely contributes to the hesitation (or outright refusal) of a victim to testify.

Why risk your life testifying (snitching) for a prosecution that often lets admitted human traffickers walk free with probation, or $50 fines, or dismissals? JohnTV argues that the DA’s office is doing very little to nothing to try and rectify this problem.

Fortunately, Gatson may still yet face serious prison time. JohnTV has located a federal indictment that was filed one month after Gatson’s state charges were dismissed.

The federal indictment is for a single count of “sex trafficking of a child” that allegedly took place between Jan. of 2009 and July of 2014. The 2014 date is important because it appears to encompass the Carpenter and Clark case above. However, the online federal records are very vague, so it is impossible to know if this case is specifically referencing the sexual trafficking of the 17-year-old mentioned previously. Gatson is known to have pimped many other women. Gatson is currently set for federal trial in May of this year.

Gatson is no stranger to prostitution arrests or the threat of federal prosecution.

Gatson was one of 48 arrested in Aug. of 2012 during a joint effort by the FBI, OBN and the Oklahoma City Police Department. Gatson was never criminally charged as a result of that arrest.

As reported by JohnTV, Gatson was arrested again in Jan. of 2013 on a complaint of conspiracy to commit felony human trafficking and aiding and abetting prostitution. As a result,  in Feb. of 2014 (over a year and Lord knows how many victims later) Gatson was charged in Oklahoma County with felony human trafficking and two counts of pandering (pimping). The human trafficking charge was dismissed and on Dec. of last year Gatson was sentenced to five years in prison. Gaston’s five-year sentence was yet another plea agreement orchestrated by ADA Kallsnick and included sentencing on four other felony and one other misdemeanor case.

JohnTV also reported on Gatson in July of 2013 after he was once again arrested, along with 59 others, by the FBI, OBN and OCPD during the annual nationwide sting to target human sex traffickers – referred to as ‘Operation Cross Country.’

Gatson is currently in prison until Oct. of 2018 for convictions that include, concealing stolen property, larceny from a person at night, making false declaration of ownership to a pawn broker, possession of a firearm, rape and pandering (pimping). Gaston only received five years for that laundry list of crimes, and only after he violated the probation he was originally given.

3/26/2015 (updated 3/27/2015) – Edmond, OK — A University of Central Oklahoma senior has pleaded guilty to criminal charges related to operating a brothel out of his Edmond apartment and furthering the prostitution efforts of his live-in girlfriend. And, as predicted by JohnTV, his sentence does more to encourage prostitution than to deter it.

JohnTV previously reported on the details of the arrests of Ali Hussain Al Yousuf, 24, and Rachel Lauren Herrera, 20, on Tuesday.

In summary; back in January an undercover agent with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (Human Trafficking Unit) replied to a prostitution ad posted to Backpage.com by Herrera. After the undercover agent arrived at Herrera and Al Yousuf’s Edmond apartment, he was directed to a bedroom where Herrerea removed all her clothing, produced a condom from a dresser drawer and collected $150 from the officer.

When Herrera was taken into custody, also present in her apartment was her seven-month old daughter, her 16-year-old sister and Al Yousuf – who had been hiding in a kitchen pantry closet.

Further investigation revealed that Herrera was not being forced to prostitute herself for Al Yousuf. In fact, Herrera claimed to police that she met Al Yousuf while she was prostituting online and that he was a ‘John’ and they later developed a romantic relationship (just like ‘Pretty Woman’ – minus the good looking, filthy rich, well meaning, knight in shining armor. Oh yeah, also minus the hooker with a heart of gold looking to get out of ‘the life’).

Last Friday Al Yousuf was charged in Oklahoma County Court with misdemeanor maintaining a house of prostitution and aiding and abetting prostitution. Herrera was charged with a single count of misdemeanor engaging in prostitution.

In our last article JohnTV pointed out some obvious indications that the Oklahoma County District Attorneys office wasn’t going to pursue this case very aggressively and today those predictions were validated.

Less than a week after criminal charges were filed and Al Yousuf’s case is already over. And what better lawyer to represent a yuppy Edmond college pimp than a defense attorney who publicly refers to himself as “The California Switchblade” (seriously) and looks like a model for a chain of spray tan booths along the Jersey Shore — Marco Palumbo…

So, how seriously does the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office take the crime of operating a brothel and aiding and abetting prostitution in the highbrow white picket fence community that is Edmond, Oklahoma?

Well, lets put it this way, JohnTV predicted the hug-a-thug outcome with amazing accuracy….

Our prediction….

“…you two are not facing more than one to five years deferred (that means probation only, no official conviction and no permanent criminal record), maybe a couple hundred bucks in fines and hopefully some making better choices rehabilitation classes. Your lawyer is going to cost you more than the Oklahoma ‘justice’ system will.”

The sentence…

Two years deferred (which means no conviction, no permanent record), $500 fine, and Making Better Choices classes (ding, ding, ding!). Prosecutors also threw in 40-hours of community service and a health checkup (Al Yousuf is after all basically sleeping with everyone Herrera has slept with — ewwwwwww!).

So, to put this sentence in perspective…. If you’re an entrepreneurial college kid and you’ve got a girlfriend who is more than willing to bed any dude with a pulse for $250 an hour…. You stand to make $195,000 a year, cash money, tax free (that’s just 3 ‘dates’ a day at only 5 days per week) and the most you are risking is no permanent criminal record, 24-months of probation and a $500 fine (two ‘dates’ profits). Yeah, that sentence is going to send a message. And the message is, “Why the hell didn’t we think of this sooner!”

I already know the prosecutor’s argument; the kid is young, has no prior criminal record, is finishing college and is simply a patsy who fell for a hooker he couldn’t control and to be honest he liked the extra cash she shared with him. Prosecutors most likely feel like they scared the hell out of him, he was completely humiliated with the public exposure and a little probation, some fines and court costs, community service and rehabilitation classes is all punishment enough.

To be honest, if that was the only reality, JohnTV would be okay with Al Yousuf’s punishment – but there’s another perspective you have to keep in mind. Al Yousuf wasn’t an uneducated kid who really didn’t know any better. He is a privileged kid who is by all accounts smart and almost finished with a college degree that will make him very good money. He made the decision to risk that by becoming a pimp. To make matters worse he began his journey into ultimately becoming a pimp by first being a ‘John.’ But probably the most outrageous offense is that he was allowing the prostitution of his girlfriend to occur in the presence of their own seven month old child and his girlfriend’s 16-year-old sister. That fact alone JohnTV finds inexcusable.

What punishment would we have suggested? First off, Al Yousuf and Herrera should have been treated like EVERY OTHER criminal defendant arrested in a Backpage.com sting and charged with felony computer crimes. Additionally, they should have faced child endangerment and contributing to the delinquency of a minor charges. Regardless, a more appropriate sentence would have been three to five years of probation, the maximum fine, community service at a facility that actually treats those devastated by prostitution, making better choices classes and a handful of weekends at the county jail so that he gets a really good taste of the road he and his girlfriend were headed down.

No word yet if Herrera will wrap her charges up as quickly as her pimp boyfriend.

3/27/2015 – OKC, OK — A Oklahoma City woman that was once played a key role in a notorious and violent local prostitution ring has been arrested again. Court papers show her former crime ring involved dozens of young women and made approx. $240,000/month. Her arrest record lists her residence as a million dollar mansion in the prestigious and exclusive Gaillardia gated community in far NW OKC.

Elizabeth Elaine Andrade, 32, was taken into custody earlier this month during a prostitution sting conducted by members of the Oklahoma City Police Department’s Vice Unit.

Andrade is a former high ranking member of the Germaine Coulter and Mario Diaz crime ring that made most of its money through the prostitution efforts of young women.

According to a probable cause affidavit, on Mar. 3 at around 11:30 p.m. and undercover officer investigating suspected online prostitution ads responded to an ad allegedly posted by Andrade.

The two agreed to meet at a local bar near I-40 and S. Meridian. Once they arrived, the undercover officer gave Andrade $200 for an hour of her time as an ‘escort.’ Shortly thereafter the officer claims that Andrade asked him to go and secure a hotel room.

After the two arrived at the hotel room, Andrade allegedly told the undercover officer she needed another $200 and she would provide him with oral sex and sexual intercourse. The officer then gave the take down signal and other uniformed officers arrived to take Andrade into custody.

Andrade was transported to the Oklahoma County Jail on criminal complaints of offering to engage in prostitution and felony computer crimes.

While impounding Andrade’s vehicle, officers located $251 in cash in the center console. Since Andrade indicated that escorting was her only source of income, the cash was seized as criminal proceeds.

According to booking information provided publicly by the Oklahoma City Police Department, Andrade resides in the 14200 block of Calais Circle in Oklahoma City. That general address probably doesn’t mean anything to most of us, and that’s because most of us probably are not invited behind the guarded walls of the very upscale and exclusive gated community of Gaillardia. According to the Oklahoma County Assessor’s website, Andrade’s specific address is indeed located within Gaillardia and was purchased in 2007 for just over $1.5-million. Records also show the property is indeed in the Andrade name – more specifically a 1997 Andrade Trust.

Previous court records list Andrade’s address as a $300,000 home at 13000 Red Cedar Circle in NE OKC near Edmond. That address is known to JohnTV and was targeted by our efforts in 2012 to expose the fact that a prostitution and human trafficking ring was operating out of that address by Coulter and Diaz.

Coulter and Diaz – along with Andrade and three other women – were all criminal convicted in 2013 of charges related to their criminal enterprise. Coulter and Diaz pleaded guilty to racketeering and received 10-years in prison each. Both are up for parole later this year.

Andrade and the other three female criminal defendants pleaded guilty to conspiracy to conceal criminal proceeds. Andrade dodged a judicial bullet when she was only given a deferred sentence with DOC supervision. A sentence she has now violated with her most recent arrest.

According to court records; in 2009 Andrade was charged with offering to engage in prostitution and obstructing a police officer. In 2010 Andrade was arrested again and charged with engaging in prostitution and possession of CDS. In 2011 the 2009 and 2010 cases were resolved when she took a five year deferred sentence for both – which means her most recent arrest violated that probation.

Again in 2012 Andrade was arrested during a prostitution sting and charged with offering to engage in prostitution and felony computer crimes. In that case Andrade was granted a 10-year deferred sentence.

However, she had already violated the 2011 deferred sentence when she was granted another deferred sentence in her 2013 conviction mentioned previously, for concealing criminal proceeds. That conviction violated the 2012 probation she was given .

In short, Andrade has been given four different deferred sentences in the last four years and has managed to violate the terms of every single one without consequence. You’d be hard pressed to find another high profile Oklahoma City prostitute that has been given so many breaks by the Oklahoma County District Attorneys Office. I’m just speculating out load, but it just may have something to do with her $1.5-million address (just saying).

No charges have been filed in Andrade’s most recent arrest and none of her prior probations show any indication of being revoked.

This folks is ‘justice’ in Oklahoma County.

3/28/2015 (updated 3/29/2015) – OKC, OK — An Oklahoma woman, who used to own a retail kiosk at a popular local mall, was arrested last month for operating a brothel across the street from an upscale gated community in far NW Oklahoma City/Edmond.

Penny Ann Melton (aka, Penny Ann Rutter, Penny Ann Bates), 47, and another woman were arrested by members of the Oklahoma City Police Department’s Vice Unit around 5:00 p.m. on Feb. 25.

According to court records, an undercover officer walked into an inconspicuous office complex at 17334 N. May Ave, Suite B “in order to receive a massage.”

During the massage, the undercover officer reported that the female masseuse, identified as Skyler Carol Henderson, 22, offered to perform oral sex on him in exchange for $200. The undercover officer then placed Henderson under arrest.

Melton was identified as the proprietor of the business  and the individual who unlocked the door so the undercover officer could enter the premises.

Melton and Henderson were taken into custody and transported to the Oklahoma County Jail.

Henderson was booked into jail on a complaint of offering to engage in an act of prostitution. Melton was booked into jail on a complaint of maintaining a house of prostitution.

Henderson was released after posting a $500 bond. Melton was released after posting a $2,000 bond.

A certificate of probable cause was filed in Oklahoma County Court against Melton on Feb. 27. No formal criminal charges had been filed against either Melton or Henderson at the time of this article’s publication.

No other criminal record could be found for Melton or Henderson.

JohnTV’s own Brian Bates went to the address listed on the police report for the business in question. The 17334 N. May Ave. address is a part of the newly constructed Rosewood Office Park, which sits directly across the street from the gated community of Rose Creek – where houses start at around $500,000 and go up to well over $1-million.

What was of particular interest is that there is no signage outside of Suite B indicating what type of business is being conducted inside (see photo below). Additionally, a Google search of the address also provided no insights. The only conclusion that can be drawn (as in, we have no proof, but we are speculating out loud) is that this prostitution business is on a “need to know basis” and most likely serviced wealthy clients from the surrounding area who heard of this location by word-of-mouth, where given a referral or only after being directed to it after making contact online or via the telephone.

The probable cause affidavit appears to intentionally omit how law enforcement became aware of this brothel.

When JohnTV did some digging into who exactly Melton is, we soon realized that she previously owned and operated a cutting board kiosk at Quail Springs Mall back in 2011 (see photo below) and promoted her efforts on Twitter (@CuttingBoardOK)…

I don’t know about you, but we can’t imagine a cutting board kiosk at the mall is raking in the dough. That said, Melton’s booking address with the Oklahoma County Jail comes back to a $550,000 home in Arcadia (see photo below)…

Oklahoma City Police have Melton’s residence as being 609 SE 6th Street in Oklahoma City. Searches on both the Oklahoma County Assessor’s website and Google maps do not show this to be a valid address.

Its not known how long Melton has allegedly been involved in the prostitution business, but it does appear things started falling apart for her financially in 2010.

According to court records; Melton, using the last name Bates (from a previous marriage), was the subject of a foreclosure on a nearly $400,000 home in the 5300 block of NW 124th in Oklahoma City. Records show the Arcadia home also fell into foreclosure around the same time. A third home under her Rutter alias, worth around 260,000, also fell into foreclosure in Cleveland County.

It appears Melton, and her then husband Rudy Rutter, were later evicted from an Oklahoma City rent house in 2012.

In Nov. of 2011 Melton sent out the following Tweet to the Twitter accounts of The Ellen Show, the TODAY Show, and Ann Curry…

If the current pimping allegations against Melton are true, then she’s apparently invented herself all over again as a madam!

4/1/2015 – Las Vegas, NV — In a move that marks one of the first times a police officer’s body cam has resulted in criminal charges against the officer – A Las Vegas police officer has been criminally charged after his body camera appeared to show him illegally assaulting a women he believed was engaged in prostitution. An excessive force investigator has recommended that the officer be charged with more serious crimes.

According to media reports, officer Richard Scavone, 43, was initially charged with misdemeanor battery following his bloody 5 a.m. confrontation with a woman outside a Las Vegas hotel. However, a detective investigating the woman’s complaint of excessive use of force recommended that officer Scavone be instead charged with a felony in addition to a different misdemeanor count.

The detective noted in his March 12 report that Scavone should be charged with felony oppression under color of office and misdemeanor false reporting by a public officer.

An internal investigation revealed that Scavone’s version of events did not match the video recorded on his body cam.

In the video, Scavone can reportedly be seen throwing the woman to the ground, grabbing her by the neck and slamming her head repeatedly on the hood of his patrol car. The woman can allegedly be heard screaming, “You’re abusing me for no reason” and asking the officer to take her to jail and stop hurting her.

Following the scuffle with the woman, Scavone arrested her on complaints of loitering for the purpose of prostitution, littering and resisting arrest.

The use of force investigation claims that Scavone at least four times made assertions in his police report that appear to be untrue; including that the woman was combative and acting in a threatening manner.

The internal investigation concluded that Scavone used unreasonable and excessive force and that he did not have sufficient probable cause to arrest the woman.

Despite the use of force investigators recommendation for a harsher charge, Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson announced reduced charges a week after the recommendations were made.

DA Wolfson’s office has said they will not address questions as to why they didn’t follow the recommendations for more severe charges.

The woman allegedly admitted on camera to being a prostitute, but all of the charges against her were dropped because she had not been read her Miranda rights prior to her admissions.

Scavone was only wearing  a body camera that day because he was one of 200 officers that had agreed to wear the cameras voluntarily as part of a pilot program. The department reportedly has approximately 2,400 total officers.

If convicted, the misdemeanor battery charge carries the possibility of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Scavone is expected to make his first court appearance at an arraignment set for April 15. The eight-year police officer is now on paid leave.

Locally, the Oklahoma City Police department has reportedly begun a 100-camera pilot program of their own – according to a Jan. 13, 2015 article in the Oklahoman.
