11/12/2013 – The Federal Bureau of Investigations is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who they believe may be involved in child sexual abuse.
Today the FBI released photos and details of the man they are looking for. The images were taken from the Internet and enhanced and redacted by investigators.
Agents say there is little information to go by other than the man’s face and they hope someone will recognize him.
The FBI says there is no specific evidence linking the man to any particular state or region of the country.
It is believed that in at least one video he referred to himself as ‘Jimmy’ and spoke with a southern accent.
The FBI has labeled the man as ‘John Doe 27′ and he is described as a caucasian male in his 40′s or 50′s with dark hair, dark eyebrows, graying sideburns and male pattern baldness. The suspect also wears glasses and wears a ring on his right hand.
Another possible identifying image is a distinctive plaid chair seen in some of the evidence gathered by agents.
Initial images and videos of the unidentified adult male, John Doe 27, being photographed while engaging in sexually explicit activities with a child were first recorded by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in April of 2013. They are still being circulated in numerous child pornography forums across the Internet.
Anyone who can help authorities locate the man is asked to call the toll free FBI tip line: 1-800-CALL-FBI.
This individual is being sought as part of the FBI’s Operation Rescue Me and Endangered Child Alert Program (ECAP) initiatives, both of which represent strategic partnerships between the FBI and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Operation Rescue Me focuses on utilizing clues obtained through in-depth image analysis to identify the child victims depicted in child exploitation material, while ECAP seeks national and international media exposure of unknown adults (referred to as John/Jane Doe) who visibly display their faces and/or other distinguishing characteristics in association with child pornography images.
