9/10/2013 – Tulsa, OK — A 17-year veteran with the Tulsa Police Department has been arrested on felony complaints of soliciting prostitution within 1,000′ of a church and possession of a firearm in commission of a felony crime.
Corporal David Turner, 52, of Broken Arrow was taken into custody last Wednesday around 3 p.m. after he reportedly gave an undercover officer posing as a prostitute $40 for specific sexual contact.
The sting went down at the Executive Inn, located at 11328 E. 11th St.
According to authorities, Turner’s arrest was the culmination of an extensive internal affairs investigation into alleged criminal activity by Turner.
The sting involved members of both the Tulsa Police Department’s Special Investigations Division and agents with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control (OBN).
When Turner was taken into custody officers reportedly found him in possession of a loaded handgun.
Turner was released from jail the following day after posting a $11,500 bond.
Turner reportedly has worked for the Tulsa Police Department since 1996.
Turner has since been placed on administrative leave with pay.
No charges had been filed at the time of publication.
