3/25/2014 – OKC, OK — A Oklahoma City attorney was arrested last weekend in a hotel room with a naked teenage girl, sex toys, a video camera and tripod.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Joseph K. Heselton Jr., 61, was taken into custody after police were dispatched to the Crowne Plaza hotel (2945 NW Expressway) at 4 a.m. Saturday.
When the officer arrived he came into contact with the calling party (a Edmond North male high school student) in the parking lot of the hotel. The teen told the officer that a 17-year-old female friend of his was in room 719, naked and having sex “with an old man.”
The officer went to room 719 and knocked on the door.
When Heselton came to the door the officer told him he was told there was a 17-year-old girl in his room. Heselton replied that there was. The officer asked to speak to her and Heselton said the officer should wait because the girl was naked.

The officer noted that he saw the teen exit the bathroom naked and that when he stepped into the room the girl was putting her clothes on.
The officer also noted in his report that he observed a tripod and a open camera case near the bed.
KWTV News9 reported that several sex toys were also found in the room.
Heselton told the officer that the teen was his girlfriend and the female confirmed that she had been dating Heselton for the last two-days; later stating that she’d only known Heselton for the past week.
The teen then told the officer that Heselton had been videotaping her masturbating on the bed.
The officer noted that another seventeen year old (located in the hotel parking lot) admitted to also being in room 719 and that she had had a threesome with Heselton and the other female and that the sex act was videotaped.
The female identified as Heselton’s girlfriend also told police she had been filmed engaging in sex acts in his rented edmond home.
The second female said she was introduced to Heselton after she told the first girl that she wanted to get high and the first girl told her “I know a guy that can get us some.”
JohnTV has learned that the second female attends the Mission Academy in Oklahoma City.
Mission Academy identified itself as “a private school for adolescents in recovery. Our students seek to obtain their high school diploma in a creative, supportive, challenging recovery environment. ”
Heselton was arrested on two complaints of possession of child pornography (the images allegedly on the camera) and released from jail on a $20,000 bond.
Okay, okay, it goes without saying that, if true, Heselton is a major pervert and deserves to be publicly outed. Not only is he some old guy messing around with and videotaping much younger girls, but its exactly this sort of coercion that often leads young girls down the road to prostitution. Speaking of, if it can be proven that Heselton exchanged drugs for sex with the teens then he is also facing child prostitution charges – not to mention manufacturing of child pornography.
Regardless, JohnTV can’t help but wonder why police were dispatched to investigate a perfectly legal act.
Yes, despite the creepy factor, it is perfectly legal for some ‘old guy’ to be having sex with anyone that is 16-years old or older.
That said, in Oklahoma, even though you can have sex with a 16 or 17 year old, you can’t send them text messages or emails about it and you certainly can’t videotape it.
Had Heselton simply not answered his hotel room door or told the officer not to come in and that they didn’t want to talk, then he would not have been arrested (obviously Heselton is not a criminal defense attorney).
Heselton’s defense will obviously focus on whether or not he gave the investigating officer consent to enter his room and question the teen.
